Yes

1) Inform - informing youth about the dangers of having unprotected sex and the consequences of contracting HIV and also the history of HIV would hopefully decrease the spread of the disease. Also, information about predation and how to avoid *unwanted* solicitation.

2) Engage - hopefully by having youth engaged and passionate about issues (via use of ICT and other means), youth would be more occupied with such things instead. This could also involve initiatives actively trying to prevent HIV/AIDs.

3) Inspire - ICTs can inspire people to do more. It can also be a means via which people currently suffering from AIDs or are HIV positive (or are interested) to support each other and to give each other ideas.

That's all I can think of at the moment. smile

ICT's can be of great help in the youth's fight against HIV/AIDS in many ways.here are a few ways:

Information material sourcing:

Young people who have access to ICT's can source information materials on the internet which can be of great use in their work.Information is vital for progress in any kind of work and HIV/AIDS information is ever being updated what with the ongoing research on the epidemic. Therefore internet access which is made possible by ICT's allows young people to easily access current information to help plan their interventions properly.

Partnerships/Resource Mobilisation:

Those with youth organisations in AIDS work can actually work out partnerships with intrenational players, partnerships which would be helpful in resource mobilisation i.e funding, capacity building, just to mention a few.

Information sharing:

There are many online mailing discussion forums/groups e.g the BTS Forum,PATAM etcetera to which young people can subscribe and be able to discuss current issues, contribute or simply learn from others contributions. There are also many on-line coomuunitie/groups like TIG, GYAN etc where young people can find a lot of opportunities to help them in their fight against HIV/AIDS like access to relevant events, information, ideas from discussion boards and even capacity building, as in the case of GYAN's online course.

The opportunities accesible to young people via in the HIV/AIDS fight are so numerous I couldnt scribe them all but these are just a few of them.
