VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED IN TORONTO, CANADA

World Fit For Children is an international, non-sectarian, not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children. We strive to implement international development projects, provide education and relief, and advocate for the well-being of children worldwide.
We are currently seeking volunteers to fill out one or more of the following Board Committees:
1) Fundraising – meets every 2nd Monday evening of the Month
The Fundraising Committee deals with issues that pertain to expanding the financial resources of WFFC. Main tasks include researching and contacting donors, helping with funding proposals, organizing fundraising events and mail campaigns, networking with communities and key stakeholders, and other similar duties as assigned.
2) Human Resources – meets every 3rd Monday evening of the Month
The HR Committee would generally be responsible for recruiting and managing all volunteers of WFFC. It would also be responsible for searching for and filling Board vacancies when applicable. Other duties may include keeping track of annual membership fees, implementing volunteer recognition mechanisms, maintain volunteer e-mail list servers, and other assigned duties.
3) Communications - meets every 4th Monday evening of the Month
The Communications Committee is responsible for conveying the image of WFFC to the outside world. Primary duties include marketing, media, PR, website update, newsletters, promotional materials, public speaking, contacting important individuals, awareness and advocacy, and any other similar duties.
All you need to be is motivated and passionate about making a difference in kids’ lives around the world. Relevant experience in one or more of the above areas is a bonus but not required.
All committees generally meet once per month for about 2 hours. We meet in downtown Toronto at the Metro Hall located at 55 John St. (&King St.).

i will like to be also involved, but i am based in Nigeria, i hope that wont be a barrier? secondly do you have any chapter in Africa or Nigeria?I will like to have a chapter of you orgainsation in Nigeria and in My friends country, Nepal But the most important thing there is the funding? How do u go about funding?

Hi, I am from Toronto, and am interested in participating, specifically to help out in the Communications aspect. I have just graduated highschool and am spending my summer working with children, but will have time when I return in September to help out. How do I go about applying, and what sort of qualifications are required?

Unfortunately, as I mentioned previously these Committees only meet physically in Toronto. They are not over the internet.
Perhaps, if we have enough people that are interested in this worldwide, then we could set up some kind of an action plan that could be carried out virtually over the internet.
I welcome any ideas and suggestions.
