travel accomdations and volunteering in africa and south europe

Hey everyone!
My name is Matt Saunders, I'm an 18 year old student in Canada, just finishing high school and looking for opportunities for travel and volunteer work next year.
I'm looking to travel starting in Africa, not a specific region yet (but looking at Ghana), and then looking to make my way up to Egypt, eventually to Cyprus and then Turkey. This would all be around January of next year, continuing on until I run out of money (at least 2 months). I have a pile of contacts, but any more would be very much appreciated.
In at least Africa I'm looking to do some volunteer work, for instance teaching english. Saying that, any other sort of contact info would be perfect (places to stay, people to meet, things to do, anything!).

Thanks for the reply.
I'm planning on coming down as an individual, the goal is to get some volunteering work done, and for the personal benefit of the culture shock. I'm looking to spend about a month in Africa, doing any sort of humanitarian work I can land, I'm pretty open to anything. Right now there isn't much more of a plan than that, to experiance a different culture and help out any way I can. I've seen a lot of information about teaching children and AIDS/sex-ed work, which is appealing, but I'm not dead set in anything.
Can you give me some more information about yourself and what you can offer?
