Calling University Students Around the World for a new Organization!

Hello!
My name is Pauline, and I am currently finishing my second year at the University of Toronto. I wanted to bring your attention to an organization that is in the beginning stages of formation that needs YOUR participation and involvement in getting if off the ground! What we are trying to form is a Global University Partnership where students all over the world work together and communicate together to achieve the goals of the organization.
The main goals of the organization are to be a force of action in the international arena-meaning create and execute projects for international development and the millennium development goals; educate ourselves as members and our university campuses on pressing international issues; and promote an appreciation for cultural diversity througout the memberbase and on campus. These are just preliminary thoughts, and with further discussion and more planning and input, we as students can be a force of real change in this world.
So if this sounds of interest to you, and you want to have a major role in the planning process of this organization, and want to implement it in your university, then please contact me, and join the following TIG group: GUPNetwork. If you have any suggestions, ideas, thoughts, or advice, then, again, please contact me! Ideas are welcome, and encouraged- this is a group effort, and together we can implement this organization! So join the group, and let's get planning!
Thanks!
Pauline Ngomba
PS- If you go to the GUPNetwork group page, there is a document I have written outlinig my thoughts on the structure/goals of the organization, and preliminary ideas. These are just my ideas to be used as a starting point, and I welcome feedback, and ideas of your own! I want this to be a collaborative effort!

new group vs. established

Hi pauline,
I'm new to tig, but i was wondering about the concept of creating a new international group vs. supporting a preexisting group.
I'm not sure where I sit, but I was wondering about a group like OXFAM international that already has groups in a number of places, with a firm base in international development issues and who readily accept and encourage the importance of youth in working towards solutions for basic human rights issues.
i was having this discussion just yesterday and am interested in exploring it more.
be well,
k

Having an international association with international student is quite avery good idea and I believe that if taken seriously, it could prove to be a better forum to build the capacity of the University students to be involved in the world events. We should not wait to be given the future leadership in a silver platter even if we are the future leaders. And that is why what you have thought of is quite magnificient and I will do anything to support the course.I can also try to mobilize our students at Egerton University Kenya to join the course. If you can send me the detrails and the aims and objectives of the initiative, it would be a step in encouraging participation through shairing of the ideas on how to move forward.
My email address is (eribros2003@yahoo.com).
I hope it is not yet too late.
Bye and I wish you success.****
