confrontation is neither necessary nor desirable, besides there is much common both in ideas and in our societies,it is this which need to be increasingly explored.
thorough study and uderstanding of theologcal similarities and verses that are suppose to seve as sources of unity in diversity and conducting reseaches on theological differences would enable us come out with areas of theological discord which are non negotiable and accord them due respect in order to de-escalate ethno-religious conflicts that have resulted in loss of lives, people disabled and refugees scattered.
it is important to note that understanding our differences and learning how to resolve them through peaceful means is indisputable because in circumstances of unrest no community would flourish,re-orientation of religious youth leader's thinking and understanding in order to build, maintain and sustain peaceful co-existence and better understanding,so that we will work together for socio-economic transformation of our community and the global village at large.

Especially since the "rise" and spread of three desert religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, all of which intersect moe often than they claim to, wars caused by religious differences, or incited by religous motives wre a staple in the history of humans...
Moreover, last year, when Turkey's ascension talks were in progress, Turkey' s Erdogan correctly put that if Turkey is not accepted into the EU, then it will be a "Christian club". While, many European leaders might deny it, the fact that subconsciously Turkey is still regarded as the "Infidel" who would "invade" Europe and deprive it of its goods, it is still holding much of truth...

The three Abrahamic religions....
I'm a Christian myself, and I find there should be no reason for anyone from any of these 3 religions to fight. I have my Islamic friends, who I associate with on a regular basis, and the way we live when following what we beleive is so simalar it amazes me sometimes, it's liek the same religion, only we talk about it differently, and draw from slightly different sources. I beleive in Christ, and the restoration of the gospel through Joseph Smith, and the Book Of Mormon, whereas my friend Farah and her husband believe in the Quran, and the Prophet Mohammad, but we both believe in the prophets before Jesus Christ. We also have similar standards of dress, beliefs about prayer, fasting, charity, kindness, etc. etc.
Do we believe in having peace?, and do we believe in defending ourselves? When it comes to defending using violence, we weigh our options. I can imagine it would be difficult to not defend yourself if you're going to be killed, or your loved ones are dying. What about turning the other cheek? When is it ok to fight back?
I believe anything can be solved peacfully, but i also believe the free will is free will, we'll always have it and it's the source of all our social problems, and all our social solutions, some will choose violence, and maybe they don't understand why it's wrong, and maybe they do, and choose to use it anyways. How do we gather together the ones that will choose peace? and How to we stick together and perpetuate peace?

"Religious youth leaders and sustainable development"....nice topic BTW!
I guess that Amr Khaled, a 38 years-old Islamic preacher and reformist is a shining example of a religious figure focusing on sustainable development towards all humanity.
