Is 'Self survival' truly the first law of nature, should it be regarded as such?

I would say its to live long(as long as you can) and to leave as many children after you as you can. Thats an overall animal survival law of nature but i dont think it should be the unique objective of our lives cause we consider ourselves higher than higher primates
We should also make sure that our children will have a better future than we do!

Eat or be eaten.
Self Survival is the first law of nature because nothing is more important then suviving.
But thats not what most people belief. Most of us would rather go hungry then to see someone else strave. Rather be eaten or crushed by society then to rejoice at someone elses loss.
