Bird Flu !

Reports have said that bird flu has infiltrated Turkish countryside, and that it is on its way to the Middle East, especially with the bird migration season from north to south...what do you think about that issue ?

i m not the most informed person on this issue but let me impart wht i read and heart.
first of all Turkish bird flu was "reinvented", meaning this current one, in the Eastern part of Turkey, ironically teritorries which belonged sometime ago to Armenia - namely Van region. The economic situation in the Eastern part of Turkey(especially rural) is described by one word LAMENTABLE, apart some urban centers next to the sea. Meaning that in several areas even a simple hygiene is absent, especially in some villages.
what i heart is that bird-flu was passed to children playing with dead birds which they found in their village(s).
H5N1 virus which is behind the bird-flu is said not to have any vaccine yet and the human-human infection might occur..
so i m not sure how it will spread, having scietists still climing thats its not food-borne and so its safe to eat poultry.
bear in mind that every century has several major virus spreads and scientits very much fear that if not hampered its spread, this virus might spread and what is worse mutate and becomequite fatal..

Avian Flu virus now has been discovered in the 3 continents of the old world. The only cases of human infection were reported in East Asia (as far as my information goes).
Microorganisms are know to cause endemics or epidemics but viruses have the character that they cause PANDEMICS (infection appears in more than one continent simultaneously), too. I think HIV is an example for that.
Influenza viruses have caused throughout the years many outbreaks and that's because their genome is a bit unstable. Influenza viruses are single-stranded RNA viruses which make them liable to various transformations and this is because if a port of the single strand genome is lost, there's no remaining clue for it and thus when this lost part is replaced, the replacement isn't quite identical to the original lost information.
Anyway, they say that this strain of influenza, H5N1 (which stands for haemolysin5 neuraminidase1) they it's transmitted from secretion of a bird to another and from birds to humans. There has been no recorded case of human-to-human transmission. The fear now is that the virus may get access to intermediate host, say pigs, and do its job (transform genetically) so that it becomes infective from man to man.
The virus is killed by 65 degrees C heating so poultry is safe for eating as far as it's properly cooked and proper handling of the raw poultry is taken into consideration.

Bird Flu has recently hit India as well and the situation has been very scary!! So many chickens have been culled and people have stopped eating chicken out of fear. I think the problem is that we are bombarded with news regarding bird flu but noone really know the details that they need to know.
I mean dont u think its important for media to make people aware about the facts of bird flu instead of creating hype and scaring everyone? Right information is a key thing else there are a lot of myths related to bird flu.

yes actually the jordanian government denied any of these things although we know that it's true or we are 100% sure
and the funny thing is that when Heba(froot) asked them in the health ministry about this yesterday in our visiting to it they completely denied it

hmmmmmmmmmmmm i'll take about my country ... JORDAN .
well, before about 3 weeks i received an E-mail from one of my friends that lives now in ( Al-tafyleh) which is one of our cities in the south ...
He told me that he has information about 1 person who is infected wit BIRD FLU and he is treated now in the hospital of Tafyleh !!! ..
listen guys, BIRDS FLU can be anywhere !! NO one can control it ... but maybe the government of any country will deny that it discovered the FLU in their region ... why is that ?? ..... simply because they know that ppl will stop eating chickens ( poor chickens!! ) and also they know that other countries in the world may stop importing their Products if chickens ( or birds in General) are used in them !! ...
Do you know when France or Germany told the world that they discovered the disease in some of their frames ??? maybe it was just before 1-2 months !!! and i can tell you that this is not true .... cas when the disease started mainly in China was at the beginning of year 2000 !! DO u know that ??? but no one thought that it would be a dangerous problem !!
SO the Birds FLU moved from china to the European countries ... and i can ensure you that they knew that they got this problem ( European countries) maybe before 1 year from now ... but now they can't deny it anymore !! ..
what i know is that if the chicken was boiled at about 70 C Degrees, then any virus will die and its safe to eat birds meat ...
see you in GOOD Health

mrsamer2005 and Batoola, it's not only in Jordon, unfortunately it's all Arab world's problem, authority never say the truth to ppl. they think that will run things better any way saying the truth in such issue would help make ppl more careful.
dodidove, it's a great courage of you to eat anther one, but as much as I know, the side effects never show up before a week and it might still potential for six months, so we should wait before doing such like you…………………just kidding
momodounjie, you are right, we should pray to the lord AND stay away from flocks of birds.
And the most imp, not eating chickens.........
