Thanks all for the concern over Global Warming.May i congratulate Pallavi for her constant effort and determination towards her focus: extending humanity life-span, and maintaining that level interest in GW.
That global warming is real, is no doubt. That it affects an individual's living-span, is another reality albeit in conjunction with other parameters. But that it is irreversible is not true. Limiting and eventually eradicating greenhouse emissions is the task. Constant environmntal awareness: afforestation, re-afforestation, controlled fishing etc are the other tasks. In general our biodiversity and ecological balance are key components of the campaign. This goal deserves a great regulatory back-up and resource outlay. My big dilemma is: where do i start my involvements from?
I agree with you.Let us try and see the rescent report by the British scientist about the predictions of the Gloabal warming effects and we will try to find the solution to the problem by all means possible.

we as humans can always find a solution to our problems.considering the solution to global warming, which gases such as carbon(iv)oxide contribute to.i suggest a distillation chamber should be developed for the distillation of gases.gases emitted from factories can be separated and carbon(iv)oxide can be collected and reduced to an unharmful gas.same should be done to other harmful gases.

Hmm... If global warming effects human lifespan, it will be because of destroyed environment and more hurricanes and rising sea levels. The amount of heat you would need to cause the sort of damage suffered by glassmakers just won't happen.
As for how to stop it, there is no need for complicated chemical separating equipment. Blue-green algae and sunlight are the best bet for scrubbing exhaust from power plants. Also, the masses of plant life could then be converted to biofuels that would help reduce the need for fossil fuels in the first place.

Here an opinion about how people "bring the Global Warming to the court," which betrays shades of the American policy towards the Global Warming.
The Bush administration has been on a six-year campaign to expand its powers, often beyond what the Constitution allows. So it is odd to hear it claim that it lacks the power to slow global warming by limiting the emission of harmful gases. But that is just what it will argue to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, in what may be the most important U.S. environmental case in many years.
A group of states is suing the Environmental Protection Agency for failing to properly do its job. These states, backed by environmental groups and scientists, say that the Clean Air Act requires the EPA to impose limits on greenhouse gases emitted by new cars. These gases are a major contributor to the "greenhouse effect" that is dangerously heating up the planet.
The Bush administration insists that the EPA does not have the power to limit these gases. It argues that they are not "air pollutants" under the Clean Air Act. Alternatively, it contends that the court should dismiss the case because the states do not have "standing," since they cannot show that they will be specifically harmed by the agency's failure to regulate greenhouse gases.

Oceans storing climate change dangers
London: Global warming is creating a climate time bomb by storing enormous amounts of heat in the waters of the north Atlantic, U.K. scientists have discovered.
The scientists used 200 floats spread across more than 23 million sqkm of the north Atlantic in 1999 to measure the water's temperature profile accurately for the first time.
The floats, part of a worldwide network called Argo, sink to about 2,000 metres and return to the surface every 10 days to transmit their data. Dr Wells said the floats revealed that Atlantic waters closer to the surface between the U.K. and the U.S. had warmed much more than the average 0.015C figure.
Scientists say global warming, due to unrestricted carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels, could boost average temperatures by up to 6C by the end of the century, causing famine and violent storms. But they also say that action now to cut greenhouse emissions could stop atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide reaching 450 parts per million - equivalent to a temperature rise of 2C from pre-industrial levels. But Prof Lovelock said temperature rises of up to 8C were built in. ``Trying to take the job on of regulating the Earth is as crazy as you can get,'' he said. ``We have to adapt.'' — © Guardian Newspapers Limited 2006
Adapt ?? to 48 degrees Celsius ???
There must be a better way !
