i was a muslim child and i dont remember that someone in my school taught me to hate jews and the west.

lol,man teach us to hate the jews and the west in schools ,first of all let me put you in the picture our teachers or even us the students we are not allowed to talk in a bad way about the jews or the west, and if anyone told me to hate or love sth in a blind way without thinking then it would be wrong because Islam has focused in using our minds and thinking and there's a saynig(Hadith Shareef) for prophet Mohamed (SAAWS):he was setting with his companians in the mosque and a man came in he told them that this man is going to heaven for more than once ,that made one of the good companians so curious so he decided to stay in that man's house for a while ,he saw that that man didn't do anything special ...the good companian prayed more in the day & in the night and fasted more than he did so he was so amazed and wondered what is the reason that makes this man enter paradise .....so prophet Mohammed (SAAWS)explained that when this man sleeps he forgets everything meaning his heart is empty from hate towards anyone his heart is white and clean that's why our prophet(SAAWS) said for more than once that this man is going to enter paradise
P.S: if anyone can tell this hadith in a better way plz do it and also tell the story of prophet Muhammed with his nieghbour

i have noticed that since you joined TakingITGlobal and all your posts are concerned with the relation between US/west and islam which sometimes are offensive.
so better to leave this topic and start thinking of better constructive ones.
About schools, i was brought up till high school in an English school (English boys school in Alexandria) and i dont remember that any of the teachers has ever told me to hate jews! You seem that you take all your information from media which at many times, whatever the media agency, have to go under policies and other things which isn't its place to mention here.
Man, i wonder, did you ever visit any place in the muslim countries? well, you can listen to morgan freeman's words, he has just left egypt since few days and now in dubai, he said that he thought that arab countries, as he hears, are terrorists and killers while after his visit to Egypt, he completely changed his idea after feeling safe in the country.
Man, i recommend you to come to Egypt or emirates or jordan and stay there for sometime and then judge.

i agree with both froot and moustafa and add my voice to them that our schools have never taught us to hate the west or jews .i invite you too to come to any arabian country ,i checked your profile hoping that i would know your age but ..........anyway if you are still a student you can complete ur studying in Jordan as alot of the foreign students are doing they come and learn arabic and we've made friends with alot of them

There's plenty of this out there.
I only asked a question.I would like to know if this the situation.I'm not condeming anyone.I hope it isn't true but there are a lot of stories to prove otherwise.If you do a search on it you will see what I mean.
I am sure that all schools don't teach hate but there may be ones,religious ones that do.

I would love to travel to Egypt.
You also noted not to take information from the media.But I was just doing what other members did on my other posts.They post alot of "information" from the media.
I am also not trying to be offensive I just want information and this is a good place to get it considering a lot of differant people post here.

But Steve the problem is that you are making such sweeping generalizations - being taught hatred is NOT the norm in ANY society (except the Nazis back in the day)
So obviously the Muslims on this site are just going to think you are being rediculous.
I think most of their schools are about Math and Reading just like ours are -
but it is fair comment that there are Whahabbi school in particular in places like Saudi Arabia, places in Pakistan, etc where such hatred is taught - and in Palestine there is no question that they teach kids to glorify Myrters from a very young age.
I don't think it was a coincidence that the London Bombers went to a religious school in Pakistan right before they came home and blew up those trains.

Luke i'm gonna comment on this part bcoz i'm in a rush ,no one teaches the palestinian kids glorify Myrters in a young age or in any age they learn these things alone from what they are facing and what surrounds them

Batoola - that is Bull and you know it. These parents have their kids wearing Hamas headscarves handling rifles at like 6 years old.
The text books and Arafat's schools were blantantly racist and geared toward violence.

Maybe you should visit "Israel" and see what the zionist children are being taught about Arabs in their schools. For a starter, visit one of their settlements in the occupied land then come here and lecture us about hate.

well..
lets assume that children in palestain wear hamas badges or things like that but they are not only muslims ..there are chris. children wears it too...this act doesnt come out from a religious aspect only but bcoz of the isralian occupation to palestain...
steves ...we all know very well thats the media on the internet can be dissplaied from sources may not be true...e.g i may think of writing a report about how the jews teen-agers take melitary lessons ..how to use rifels or sth ....and that what i watched on tv before a while...
i hope that you got the answer of your question ..

Why do muslim children learn to hate, Luke let me ask you, what was the last war you were in, children in Palistine are in one right now, and have been in one for the last 50 years or more. when a boy is bought up my his mother he does not ask where his father is, but when he old enough he will ask, and when he is old enough his mother will tell him the truth, she will tell him that his father was murdered, and he used to have an older brother, that no body knows where he is now. That his sister was rapped on one on the Israeli checkpoints.
Well when a boy how already knows that his land is occupied by people who hate him and wish that him and family never existed, is confronted with all that truth what do you expect him to do, of course he is going to go out their and do what ever it takes to defend his country, his family and what ever else he believes is his, his freedom.
I got a little story to share, in one of my classes last term, one of my class mates was from Israel, in a conversation with the teacher he found out that in addition to hebrew she spoke arabic, surprised he asked her, where and why did you learn to speak arabic, she simply replied or school taught it in Israel, because we have to know the language on our enemies. how if a SWEET jewsh girl is who is living in conditions that are similar the the ones we are living in here in the U.S. knows that people who speak arabic are her enemies, do you expect a boy who has lost half of his family for his land to NOT hat her and every person like her, wake up luke.. you have no idea what is going on in the world!

I know of two mosque that teach hate in America,both are located in Brooklyn NY.
You don't know what you are talking about when you talk of US media being a puppet media.I would like to see proof of that.That is far from the truth.
Al jazeera now that is puppet media at it's best.
I don't think America is innocent and I don't think Isreal is innocent either.But I don't think the garden of Edan is located in the middle east like you people seem to think.The truth of the matter is the middle east has been unstable for 1200 years.
You say I should come to the middle east to see what it's like,maybe a trip into the US would help you understand our point of veiw.

i am from nigeria and one of the many problems we've had to deal with is religious intolerance. Nigeria is a multireligious society where a large number of the population is divided between muslims(mostly northern part) and christians (southern). I am a christian and have had to live with muslims at various times during my university years and one of the things i've found is that it is very wrong to make sweeping generalisations about any particular group of people. Some of the muslims i lived are some of the best people i've had the opportunity of meeting with in life.
However it must also be noted that the action of western countries especially the United States after Sept 11 has brought about a lot of wrong perception between both divides; a mutual feeling of suspicion. While it may not be true that muslim children are taught in school to hate the west, there are some other avenues where it is impressed upon them to hate westerners and the same is also true concerning westerners who have a miscoception about the muslim world
