The best MAJOR to choose

Guys, Help me! what do u think is the best subject or field to major in?
Today, a student has lot of choices to select from.
From being an engineer or a doctor, to simply a bachelor in any subject. The choice is vast.
If u think engineering is the best choice, then which field it is? Mechanical, Electrical, or Petroleum?
Plz let me know, as I am very much confused & double minded in taking a final decision.
I have to submit my final decision in the university before 21st November.....
Yours,
Saad

There are 2 questions that only u can answer them
1. what are u really into? What do u enjoy studying?
2. Does that field have a good career? Can u find a job easily?
After u decide which field u want u can ask others in the field u chose about any advice or suggestions.
Hope i was able to help.
Good luck

You need to take some time and just think about it. Believe me doing something you do not like is torture so the first thing you must do is choose something you Love or are at least interested in!
Then, whatever you decide, so long as you atleast like it, remember that you can do something else later. It's not the end of the world.

Plz help me choose an Engineering major!!
I love engineering,
I am passionately into mechanical and designing but in PAkistan & world over, I see a lot saturation in Mechanical Engineering.
A really close one told me about manufacture engineering, but here in Pakistan, no industries require manuf. engr.
About Petroleum Engineering, I have heard rumours that as petroleum is gonna end, so this field is into confusion.
I really have no aptitude for electrical or electronics so i dont think it would go with me.
Automotive engineering, is good field & a/c to my interest, but in Pakistan, there is no manufacture of automotives, just assembly of parts.
My plan is to do post graduate in Business Administration.
So these r my interests & scope,
Your opinion is needed for me to take any further step.
Yours,
Saad

I love engg. esp mech. the choices i have are:
- Mechanical - i love it & am very good at machines
- Automotive - I like autos+mech+designing but in Pak no manuf. of auto is done!
- Industrial & manufacture - good field, but wont mech. be better?
- Petroleum - I am interested, but rumours say that its gonna end.
- Electronics - No interest and aptitude
- Civil - 2 much saturation in Pak, with many unemployed
Plz let me know ur say.... I am much worried abt my choice.

I cannot help you to choose, But if I were you, I would choose the things which i love the best, studying hard, and become the top of that field! Maybe it sounds impractical, besides, you study one thing, you can do another thing in the future. BE more flexible!
It's all about ur decision, it's just my thoughts

if you really allow your inner mind to guide you you can do exceedingly well. science is discovery why not you do the course you no very well that you can grasp more from it not considering your country exploit alone cos elsewhere you can earn a living from it. besides that, you can make a pioneer in your decided field of choice if you allow your inner mind to guide you.

about choosing what u want to study u must look not only what interests u, but also situation on field. and u also need to take risks. it can pay u off, or not, u don't know, but at least u will enjoy doing what u like, if u'd choose major which interests u the best.
since others have already told you what i was going to say to u, i don't have much to say, except that:
it's obvious from your post what not to take ...
if i were u i wouldn't take automotive, electronics and civil (this is how u wrote it in your post). and i won't even comment why not to take them, i'm sure u know.
so, if u really like mechanical, i don't know why not to take it for your major, or even industrial&manufacture? i dunno what worries u here, if it's obvious what to take in your case take your time and rethink it all over again, and u'll see the solution is right before your eyes!
i hope i did help u in some way.
wish u, u would find study u'll like.
lots of luck!

Follow your passion

I will only advise anyone looking for a good course to study in the university to follow his/her passion, I have been a victim of allowing people to influence my decisions concerning college, but the effects may last longer than you think.
