celebrating dissent

I am new to Taking IT Global so with this thread I am testing the waters, so to speak.
I will soon begin a project that I have been thinking about for a while, which will be a celebration of dissent in the commercial arts. Through the form of a website, it will explore and promote contemporary artists and designers who are using their craft to promote awarness, change, and critical examination of todays society. From grafitti artists to industrial designers, from picket signs to green architecture. The website will contain interviews, essays, book reviews, image galleries, forums, etc...
Naturally a project of this scope will be a collaborative effort, requiring writers, graphic designers and web developers. Not to mention artists and designers of all mediums for subject matter.
What are peoples thoughts on this? What would you include? Would you help? Are there websites or magazines out there already doing this? What can set it apart?
I appreciate your comments.
