I lived in Ghana for a year and volunteered at numerous sites around the country. Of all of my experiences, working in Ejura through Kidsworldwide was definately the most amazing. I was teaching at a school for grades KG through P6. The housing accomodations were ideal, and the people I was working with were really inspiring. And the greatest part is the cost. It costs $350 for your first months stay and only $100 a month after. This is really reasonable for any volunteer project, and you actually see where your money is going unlike alot of other projects. Kidsworldwide has numerous projects around Africa, South America, and more. Take a look at their website!
Peace.

KIDS Worldwide is a Keeper

Fully agree with Annie.
I've taught with KIDS Worldwide in Ejura twice... LOVE it and LOVE KIDS Worldwide. Check it out!!
What I think is the best part about this organization (other than no sign-up fees and knowing your money is going only towards the project and your accomodation and food) is that you get added to a yahoo group once you've applied and confirmed. There, you can browse archived emails from past volunteers (with questions and answers) and network with people who are going when you are. If an organization has anything to hide, they would NOT join up past and future volunteers.
This is a legitimate organization.

NEED HELP WITH CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!

Hi,
I am trying to organize a Toy Drive for underprivileged children in hopes to ensure that they all have at least one gift to open on Christmas day. There are thousands of kids in Delhi alone and so we have a HUGE task at hand. Any help would be greatly appreciated! These kids need something to make their Christmas special. And if this small gesture can brighten up some ones day then why not!? So please help, volunteer, contribute, donate, share ideas and spread the message. Help me try and create a small Christmas miracle of our own.
please see my website and get in touch with me! Any feedback will be valued! http://projects.takingitglobal.org/Nicole_Pollock/about/
Thanks a ton!
