HIV/AIDS V/s NGOs V/s Funding agencies

Doubtless, every one agree that HIV/AIDS became the largest threat to the sustainable healthy life of the global population...The funding agencies like UNAIDS,Dfid,USAID etc.provide sufficient funds to the Latin american,Asian and African countries for Prevention as well as care and support projects as the part of the social committment and based on the MDG of UN...I personally find no hidden agendas of Fundinding agencies in providing funds to the under developed and developing nations to fight against a common universal enemy.

Here ,the point which I wish to raise is whether there is any mechanism or not to effectively monitor and evaluate the projects objected wit HIV/AIDS prevention and controll ???Whether such mechanisms like project support units or resource centres are able to effectively support and honestly evaluate the NGO projects? It is really pathetic that even after spending crores of dollars for prevention projects, the rate of infection is increasing!!!!!

For any kind of developemental projects, the impact assessments need to be carried out in every 2 or 3 years...In HIV/AIDS segment, the no. of impact assessments and behavioural survilance studies seems to be less in number...It appears to be an NGO BUSINESS>>>>here one thing is to be noted that NGOs pays more attention to the needs Assessment studies as it pave way to start new projects in the area of operation...I am not simply ignoring the NGOs which keeps a positive attitude and committment to the society and the programmes..but still we have to raise discussions on the larger community of NGOs which takes HIV/AIDS, Tsunami, etc. as opportunity to run greate business...
