we do not know that for sure here is some talk abt him being really gay and there is some other talk abt him being bisexual but this is should not be something to wonder abt coz homosexuality and bisexuality was somehting that is very common in the sixteenth century. and i've been reading that he was madly in love with a man but that man was in love with a woman and Shakespeare wrote many sonnets abt this and even the famouse " shall i compare thee to a summer's day" is believed to be written for this man and no woman.

shall i compare thee to a summer's day?
thou art more lovely and temprate:
rough winds do shake the darling buds of may
and summer's lease hath all to short a date;
sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
and often is his gold complexion dimmed;
and every fair from fair sometime declines,
by chance or natuer's changing course untrimmed.
but thy eternal summer shall not fade,
nor lose possessiion of that fair thou ow,st;
nor shall death brag thou wander,st in his shade,
when in eternal lines to time thou grow,st:
so long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
so long lives this,and this gives life to thee.
shakespear in sonnet 18 above was adressing a man (his sponsor) not his beloved according to an agreement between them; Shakespear flattring him in his sonnets and he supports him to publish his writings.

hey why are you so opssessed abt that matter i too tudy shakespeare and it does not affect my admiration to his art wither he is a homosexual or a straight guy believe me it does not matter what really matter is that the guy is great and a real artist and anything else from where i see it is just a matter of triviality and remeber that frida khalo was a bisexual and this has not made her any less an artist. the examples are alot.

I really dont see what this has to do with Cultural Diversity & Equity. Especially since you dont have anything better to do then to attempt at destroying the reputation of a man who has done nothing wrong to you. Will Shakespear will always be better then you will ever be at expressing himself.

actually nobody is trying to destroy anything here and why do you think that discussing whether a famouse figure is gay or not can destroy the figure's reputation ? there is nothing to it we are just sharing information and exchanging different point of view and this is, if you asked me, the real thing abt culture diversity, to share and exchange ionformation and ideas so do not be offende coz there is nothing to offend you in the discussion and i agree with doddidove in saying that i'm gonna love and admire the guy whether he is gay or not he is brilliant and that's enough for me.
