I want all of the jordanian members or those who studied in Jordan to tell me what they think about the educational system in Jordan ? What is the most thing that you hate about it or like about it ? Do you think it's a successful system ? How does it make the students feel ? What changes do you think should be made ?

EDUCATION

Hi Batool.
Its nice to talk about our education system, but really its sad when we talk about it.
I will tell you from my little own experince...from the school..it was really abig problem,,i will not talk about it.
But i will talk thats kids in jordan were intelligent but when they enter the school they begin to loose the kind of creative.really.try to study this you will find.
Another thing to say..now its better than before but it need time...the problem were on the time...they reach the moon and we are still here.
About our universities!!!i think to keep silnt better, but about our youth and our people...its different coz we have many leader in many places.but the problem when the student understand than his teacher!.
to be continued...

Hey Farook well i really think that we have to do sth about our educational system coz it's useless , and about the teachers yes it is a problem that nowadays most of the students know more than their teachers (have more informations)even in the teacher's field ofcourse not all of them but most of them so i think that the educational ministry has to do sth to make the teachers develope themselves specially in their field and in other fields and what's with all of these new desigions and ways in educating in schools ,i have nothing against new ways but atleast they should make the desigions and then stick up to them and they should also deal with them
example : they told the IT students that they are going to be able to study engineering in the university but then the engineering section said that they are not gonna approve to that ,then the next day they said that they approved ,then the next day they said that they still didn't approve so what's with this thing can't they make up their minds ?!?but what's really sad is that at the end the students are the ones who get hurt and decieved

Conflict
August 14, 2005 - 11:23 AM
|
|
Dear Batool,
Finally they approved thats IT STUDENTS can study enginering,as this case you know why this happen?,,coz there is conflict in regulation i mean they must work together organized everything together.
But the problem thats not all the staff ready for thats, example DR.khaled toukan is one of the least in this world and he is profisional in his place...but if you look down just near from him you will see..they cant obtain what he do..so thats conflict.
But i must be frank with myself..we have a big problem in education..coz kids and students still belive thats study is marks??
so we need to work together me and you...every one from his place ...dont worry batool..we are coming i mean not only in jordan but all the arab world or muslim world..coz we cant live in this situation.
So now if you want we can organize something as an idea and work in it as simple way to change this.
Peace.

it was too late

Yes i read in the newspaper that eventually they allowed the IT students to study engineering but it was too late bcoz most of the IT students still had doubts and by the time they approved alot of the students had already sent their universities applications to the post office ,i know that education is sth that all of the arabian and muslim countries are facing problems in but if we managed to build a successful educational system in Jordan or in any other arabian country then it's gonna be easy for the rest of the countries and this way the youth are gonna be well educated and they are gonna care about science and education again and this way we will be a developed civilaization as we once were . now about doing sth.. i like that but what?? writing articles ,or talking to Dr. Khaled Tokan himself ..what do u think ?

Planning
August 17, 2005 - 02:43 AM
|
|
Hey batool,
If you want we can plan something,,,,,i mean first we need to know what we want exactly (our target)..working in the idea..creat the implementation tool..as article, face to face meeting...it depends..but first step was took..its about we want to change.
So i think we can begin if you want to organize this idea and then see if its need more ppl to work,,then then,,,
what do you think?
peace

hmm ok nice but i think as a first step we should ask students , teachers and parents about education what do they think about it ? and what do they need to make it successful ? and take opinions as much as we can then we'll move to step number two which will be writing articles in the newspaper and we'll mention in them what ppl think , after that we'll move to step number three which will be meeting ppl in the ministry of education or ppl who will be heard , step number 4 is to try to take the permission from the ministry of education to talk with the teachers and princables in schools about more successful and interesting ways in teaching ....what do you think ?

the educational system in jordan is going in a long journey of development but i am sry to say this , it is not working coz it didnt start from the foundations of the education here, and i am sry to say that all of it started for a politcal reasons and most of the qualfied teachers are teaching for money using thier reputations ....not talking about the unqualfied teachers ........there are to many to change in the systems here starting from the top of traingle .........

good news

good news everyone they finally realized here that our educational system has alot of problems so they are doing some changes in some subjects like the arabic language they changed the books for the 4th grade ,8th and 10th grade i think ,they made them more educational and stronger they also put some questions for the students to give their opinion in them and they also gave the students the freedom to choose any paragraph they like from the lesson and copy it to improve their handwriting),they are also focusing on the grammar -they realized that we get to the university having mistakes in some basic things in grammar so this means that sth is really wrong- i on't know but i was really glad to hear this what about you?
