many ppl in the forums justify atrocities committed in thr countries blinded by “patriotism”
is this correct ?
shall we tell truth or shall we tell lies covering up atrocities to give a good name for our countries ?
some not only justify atrocities but propagate censorship against exposing atrocities.
is this correct ?

Patriotism vs Honesty

As history lents all eyes and ears to know what has
happened to its ancestors prior to the life that is
living today, has much to educate himself/herself,
so that observing and learning through all the trials
and movements over time show the scholarly individual
how he/she can grow into an educated person and very
knowledgeable and very appreciated person to be able
to differ and quest the land of its thirst for the
needs of its people and the difference to know the
raw balances of life in its region and all the calamities
dwelling within its own region for or by course; sufferance, poverty, struggles, lavish, dire, longevity,
wealthy, distribution of land, distribution of education,
distribution of human rights, distribution of laws,
distribution of knowledge, and being able to grow, share,
understand and give a hope and long term commitment.
Because so many are counting on you- including the next generation yet to come. You are what you are worth-
and the eyes and ears of the people are always waiting.

Well, I always had my own notion regarding patriotism...
I am a person trying to be a moderate Muslim...believing that all of the human race is of the same origin; one race, and one nation....and then came the differences in colors, tongues, cultures, religions, political and economic systems, etc...but the origin is the unity of the human race. I believe also that Islam united blacks, whites, Indians, Indonesians, Africans, Arabs, Moroccans, Turks, Persians, Somalians, Bosnians, Albanians, Andalusians, and a large portion of ethnic nationalities under the umbrella of faith...but, the question is: How different is ethnic nationalism from religious nationalism? As far as I believe, Islam emphasizes that humanity is bonded by brotherhood; we're all sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. Although there's the concept of religious brotherhood in Islam, there's a respect for other beliefs and ethnicities.
Unlike the medieval fudal west, the Muslim world experienced centuries of unity, from Morocco to Western China, under the pan-Islamic Caliphate...until Muslims left the fundamental principles of their religion, and rigidity became prominent...resulting in the division and the decline of the large Muslim Caliphate, and led finally to the western colonialism of the Muslim world in the late 1800s...establishing the current borders between people belonging to the same nation.

If the goal is to give your country a good name, then there shouldn't be any lies or cover up about what the country has done. Sooner or later the truth will rise and people will find out anyway. Best thing to do if you really love and is devoted to your country to admit its mistakes, try hard not to do it again, do something to make up for it, and move on. "Blinded by patriotism"....plez. No act of violence can be justified. And if there is attempt to do such, you will end up giving your self and your country a bad record.
Take Care
