I think its going to be really interesting to see the impact on the G-8 summit. I think they should have charged a small fee for tickets. I mean they continue to ask governments for money getting little responce when the people are just as keen as they are toward helping out. Every dollar counts.
I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully I can get down to Barrie!

LIVE 8 CALL FOR JUSTICE
I was very happy when I heard singer Bono saying that 'This is our time, we are standing for what is right. We are not looking for charity, we are looking for justice'. Good to hear that. Fighting poverty is not about pity. It's about doing justice. That's what Geldof meant today by saying:
"There's one plan. It's debt; trade and aid and governance. Prime, pump an economy, create good government and we'll get people out of poverty. That's what this is about. We'll jump if you jump and we're all jumping on behalf of those who can't even crawl'. LIVE 8 is more than having fun listening to superstars. It's responsible awareness.

Live 8: real concerts, authentic crowd, true artists, performers, and musicians for a real cause. Nothing similar to what we have here were it is all about lip-synching, showing off the boobs and the butt; disgusting!
By the way, where were we in all of this?

I know, I'm more than a week late in posting my highlights- I just joined the board.
My highlights included: more or less the entire beginning of the London concert (U2 w/ Sir Paul, then U2's entire set),Neil Young, Barenaked Ladies, and Great Big Sea in Barrie, as well as the sudden singing of O Canada at the end- I thought the last line: we stand on gaurd for thee, was a very appropriate way to end it all. London looked like it was probably the best concert certainly in the last decade, and I would have paid the airfare to fly over and go to it.
That's about it.

I supported the idea of this giant event, particullary I was persuaded by the past "Live Aid" concerts and stars who are involved on these kind of campaigns... real stars and fighters for making the world better to everyone like: STING, Bob Geldf and Bono.
I watched it by Internet and then by MTV and I proud of what Bono said, and performances of Sting and a great peruvian tenor JUAN DIEGO FLORES ( the new Pavarotti ) who sang in "Live8" at Berlin.
Also I know opinions of people who dont support the idea of condonation of debts in corrupted governments of Africa... but I think the decission that finally will give "G8" leaders to stop poverty in Africa is only a cause of Justice to compare the hundred of years of over explotation, assasination, and slavery of Africa and Africans on hands of Powerfull Countries ( more of them are members of G8)
Also you will be surprised, if you find who are the overseas persons, organizations or corporations that really sponsored or supported those corrupted african governments... Money corrupted a big side of the world to beneffit those who really governm the entire world, so in few words for me: "Stop Poverty in Africa is only a Cause of JUSTICE"
