Beta Test E-cards!
November 5, 2002 - 02:24 AM
|
|
Are you interested in helping us make sure that when we launch things, they're awesome and work 100%? Well then, we need you!
We are launching an e-cards section to all members (through the newsletter) in about 24 hours -- please go through it and see if you can find any bugs or break anything:
http://www.takingitglobal.org/express/ecards/
And of course, enjoy it! Send e-cards and TIG Gallery Artwork to family and friends. Thanks to Amanda Diletti, the design and technological mastermind (along with Martin) behind this. I just put the finishing touches on some code!

continual loop . . .
November 5, 2002 - 07:57 AM

Yeah, it goes round in a continual loop.
you follow the instructions to select the card you want and get sent to the next page after card selection (ie - the one where you'd enter details and such), but instead - you get diverted back to the ecard main page.
It probably works, its just got the wrong link in there somewhere.
Look for the most perfectly written piece of code, and that, as always, will be where the problem is

I just sent a card with no problems!
Was there a specific category/card combination that you clicked?

one thing that always makes me nervous is that people will add the email I send it to to a list and sell it to spammers... if you're not going to do that, can you add a notice about it?

...on every page, except the discussions for some reason (probably us forgetting to update the footer code), there is a link to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which clearly state that:
"TakingITGlobal will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone.
TakingITGlobal may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when:
- We have your consent to share the information;
- We are operating a web site in partnership with them (current examples: YoungPRESS, Global Youth Action Network) and they wish to contact their members;
- We need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested;
- We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process; or
- We find that your actions on our web sites violate the our Terms of Service or any of our usage guidelines for specific services."

If you submitted one, it needs to be approved before it is put up on the site. You should get an email when it does get approved!
