Religiohuman coexistence:-)

I am a very religious person. Indeed, I am born-again Christian. My nagging question is on the coexistence between man and religion. Towards that end, was man created for religion or was religion created for man? Please, explain your answer.

Don't be surprised if you didn't get any posts to answer your question. It's mainly because the answer is yet to be found why humans or religion (or both!) were created and also by whom and for what reason.
There are some pretty good theories I read in some earlier posts. But aside from that, we are all pretty much baffled at existence itself!
But if you do chance upon an answer, please let me be the first one to know. I, for one would REALLY like to know wtf we're all doing here. Hehe! :-D

Its definately God who created us. We are down here to make the best of our physiopsychological capabilities before our death. This still does not answer my question on the relationship between man and religion. It appears man is today more bent towards using religion for his/her own selfish ends and this therefore was the reason for my question:-) Apparently, it seems religion is becoming more and more as a tool for destruction rather than for progressing the existence of man. The worst cases of religious abuse are manifested in the use of names of religious deities to frustrate, maim, kill, colonise, grab, as well as repress and oppress fellow human beings. Religion is here to stay thats for certain. But then when will the religious man use it for the love of others?

It isn't fair to say that religion is just simply being used as a means to inflict damage. Even now, the most charitable organizations are religous ones. The churches (and etc.) in the world consistently collect donations for the betterment of humans with challenges.
However, it would be fair to say that religion has been doing more harm than good. And I don't think that's a "new" thing. It started when religion first came about and segregated the believers from the non-believers/disbelievers and has been passed on to generations!

Not that religion has been harmful. Fact is most people have used religion to subjugate others at the expense of the real goals for the existence of religion and this what I dont agree with. Certainly, no religion was created for the suffering of humanity!
