Genocide in Zimbabwe?
October 30, 2002 - 11:34 AM

I read an article in the Times Newspaper recently. It predicts a new genocide in Zimbabwe, based in indications that the Shona People will carry out a plan to commit ethnic cleansing of the Ndebele People. If this happens, and some people said "I warned you", what are the implications? The UN and the US were standing by and watching passively as hundreds of thousands of innocent people were slaughtered in Rwanda. Will they repeat that in Zimbabwe? Are intelligence services used to evaluate and analyse these kinds of risks?

The document attached in
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,482-458622,00.html is chilling. Is it genuine? Is it a piece of western disinformation?

Will Robert Mugabe guarantee that his government will never break the rules of the Helsinki Accord and International Law?

Maybe someone closer to the issue will have more insight. Thanks!

GENOCIDE IN ZIMBABWE
October 31, 2002 - 10:02 AM

It is my deep-seated conviction that the international press should not peddle blatant falsehoods to their audience as a way to increase their sales. The news item qouted saying that Shonas are prosecuting ETHNIC CLEANSING against Ndebeles is purely a fabrication meant to cause alarm and despondency.

Nothing of the sort has ever taken place in Zimbabwe hence l implore you, my friends not to ascribe significance to these injurious falsehoods. Why waSn't this news item reported in our local press?Zimbabweans will never allow such situation to manifest in their midst...never&never.

In 1987 Zimbabwe witnessed the signing of the Unity Accord. As well, Ndebele hold key, INFLUENCIAL positions in the government as well as the opposition party MDC.

Zimbabwe recognises and accept democratic principles, rule of law and good governance. For more details, contact me
