our organisation is just in its childhood phase, so i'd be very happy to receive any help, advice, or contacts to build up the network for the local cbos. are you working for an organisation dealing with similar issues? do you want to share any strategies or success stories with us? do you have contact to funding organisations, or organisations that can provide training or material for community based organisations? do you have any advice for the organisations like strategies for aids awareness, iga projects, community health initiatives, educational or employment ideas? PLEASE, share your ideas or experiences with us!
about ice network:
we're trying to build up a network of community based organisations in order to find sustainable and local solutions to overcome poverty and vulnerability irrespective of ethnic, religious and other differences.
currently, our member organisations include women's groups, hiv-positive groups, orphanages, youth organisations, groups for the elderly, iga projects and more in central, northern and nyanza province (kenya).
Goals:
-support of local cbo/ngos in their work against poverty and hiv/aids
-empowerment of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups within the communities
-information, education and communication on the community level
-capacity building for member organisations and target groups
-help with income generating activities and access to markets based on the principles of sustainability and fair trade
-education, with special emphasis on human rights education
