As we come to a close...
February 15, 2010 - 01:33 PM

Well as some of you are aware, this board will be closing as of the 17th Feburary.
So as we come to a close i have a few final questions, although off topic, more social.
1, Who has had the most influence or inspired you the most on this forum?
2, What have you learnt on this forum in these few weeks of greatest importance?
3, Who do you think will be the in the 15 who get to go to singapore?
4, Famous last words.
Heres my response.
1, niwadwitama: He has inspired me and seems to have alot of the same veiws as me and its been great reading some of his ideas.
2, I've learnt so much the last few weeks, but the most important thing is that if we want to make a change, we need to change. We need to be open minded and open to others and take in consideration everything we can beneficlal.
3, I wish everyone could go, but i think...
niwadwitama,shobana,paspaul10, HiddenArtess, Cerburus, psycheamore and atheron16 will defiently be in the group. as for myself, not so sure haha, seems to good to be true *
4, I'd like to say this has been an awesome experience and it feels like i know most of you already and i thank you all for teaching me and each other so much *

Great idea Arkadian, Good way to finish off
1. Shobana, I have seen and heard of some of the things that you have been doing, and I think that you are doing amazing things!
2. How vitally important it is, that we all make changes individually, but unite in our goals, and work together
3. I think it would br brilliant for everyone who has made contributions here to have the opportunity to go! Hopefully everyone who gets through does a good job at the conference and beyond!
4.This has been a truly brilliant opportunity to discuss these global issues! and I know I am now going to keep posting further abroad in the TIG forum, as its a great place. Let us all use IT in our educations more!

Firstly I'd like to say that I'm very sad that this board is coming to an end. This is my first experience discussing with so many people who have such great ideas. I have never actually got to mix with people who have put a lot of thought to the world around them. So I'd really like to thank everyone for this wonderful experience.
Truthfully I think most of you guys have influenced me. You all have so many diverse and unique ideas. After having so many discussions with you all, I have learned that not all youths are so aloof and unconcerned. Many of us care and want to contribute to the global society in the little ways that we can.
And I hope all of you the best of luck. I have some guesses on who'll get to go but I'm deciding to keep that to myself so as to not jinx all of you Take care

Although this online discussion is about to close, this does not mean that we get to stop here. We can still do a lot of things to help in realizing our dreams and goals. This forum is a stepping stone that we have taken and at the same time, a stepping stone that we must leave for us to continue forward in our journey through our missions. I must say that this forum has changed me a lot. Okay, to start of with the questions:
1. Among the other participants, Arkadian is the one who has inspired me a lot (although I must say that everyone has also in some way or another, inspired me)*. We have also been in contact outside the forum. While we were chatting in Yahoo Messenger, he has shared many interesting things about his country and his way of life.
I would also like to thank those who have been supportive of our group in Facebook. Thank you Aeron, Shobana, Khristine and Riley. I hope we get to develop the group more.*
2. This forum had a very great impact in my life. It has been an eye-opener for me. I became more aware of the problems in our global community. This forum has also helped me in realizing that I have a major role as a youth in the development of our society. For the past month that I have been here in this forum, I am very amused that I have already memorized the 8 MDGs! Aside from that, I have also seen their significance in our world today. I have also seen the real significance of education and IT in our global community.
3. For this question, I have to agree with ArKadian. I think niwadwitama, shobana, HiddenArtess, Cerburus, psycheamore and atheron16 are going to be selected for the group. And as for ArKadian, I am very confident that you would be chosen, my friend! It will also be an experience if everyone in the forum will get to go to Singapore for the event. I would also be grateful if I will be one of those who will be chosen for the group.
4. It’s hard for me to say any last words since I know that this would not be the last time that we will get to cross each other’s paths. This forum will end but the bonds that we have made in this forum will never perish! I hope everyone will still be in contact after this forum (join our Facebook group!).

1. There is no particular person who has inspired me the most. Of course some more, some less, but in the end, I draw inspiration from everyone's posts because there are different opinions, and the different opinions helped me open my mind to the greater world.
2. I have learned that every opinion has its value of its own, and should never disregard anything lightly, how insignificant it may seem, because everything comes together as a large piece.
3. I don't know, but I hope I will be able to attend.

1. Who has had the most influence or inspired you the most on this forum?
I can't think of anyone specifically, but when I think about all the views and perspectives that we all contributed for the forum, I think the inspiration we have gained is mutually beneficial. We have inspired others just as we have been inspired.
2. What have you learned on this forum in these few weeks of greatest importance?
I have embraced the beauty of diversity. Everyone had his/her own thoughts and ideas about a certain issue. It's wonderful getting all those input. The collective effort in getting everyone's voice heard across the forum has just been amazing.
3. Who do you think will be the in the 15 who get to go to Singapore?
The 15 who have been the most creative, well that's in the mechanics in the first place. So, good luck to all of us!
4. Famous last words.
"Even the smallest drop can create a big ripple."
I think that's pretty much self-explanatory.

Hm had a really great time discussing about various issues that concerns both us and the world(not that they are entirely 2 seperate entities =D)
Guess it's about time for farewell. Well here's my response.
1.
I would say everyone had their innovative contributions. It has really widened my perspective by hearing from those who come from various different nations. There are a few though, whom i think stand out: ArKardian, paspaul10 and psycheamore. Would like to hear more from you guys if I ever have the opportunity!
2.
That there is not an idea that is perfect. Ideas should be relentlessly refined through repeated discussion and evaluation by various parties with different perspectives.
3.
I believe the most innovative, active and apt in the various concerned field will be chosen. Personally, I do not have a specific list of people, partly because I'm more concerned with content, not author (=D), so I haven't really 'compiled' this list of people. I believe many have the potential to go in.
4.
'It will be sad, but this will not a farewell. It will be a new beginning' - Kenshin Himura, protagonist from the Japanese comic Rurouni Kenshin(yep I love Japanese comics).

Oh.... The time is pass by realy fast.
1. I have 2 people in my mind.
First it's you "ArKadian". you alway have a very good question to ask everyone and also have a very good answer too.
The other one is "Gabrielle Paul Pascual" he make me look at the idea or the point of view that I've over look.
2. I've learnt a lot all the time that I have entered this forum. I learnt that everyone have the very great ideas which maybe have some mistake form the different point of view but when everyone share their own ideas and compile all of it together, it will become the best idea.
3. From the bottom of my heart, I wish everyone could go there. I can't decide who will be there because I think everyone did their best. Hope everyone (include me [lol]) good luck.
4. "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving (Acts 20:28)"
Thanks to everyone for sharing your really great ideas.

I must say that this, itself, is what we call education at its best. In this forum, we have learned a lot of lessons. Lessons that are not taught inside the four walls of our classrooms but lessons that came from our hearts--the hearts of the youth. And so to answer the questions by ArKadian:
1. Who has had the most influence or inspired you the most on this forum?
The person who most inspired me would be niwadwitama. He was one of the few early birds in this board. He usually had a few noticeable errors in his grammar (no offense niwadwitama) but that is actually the main reason why he inspired me the most. Despite his difficulties, I could see that he always gives his very best to involve himself and inform people like us. He has a strong will and good purpose.
2. What have you learned on this forum in these few weeks of greatest importance?
We have learned a lot from this forum but I do believe that that is not the most important happening here. The gradual transformation was the most significant happening here. We've transformed into a better us. From a caterpillar, eating leaves of plants, we evolved into a butterfly, pollinating flowers of plants.
3. Who do you think will be the in the 15 who get to go to Singapore?
I do think that we are all worthy enough to join this special event but we all know that not all can come. So, just as to name a few whom I think are deserving to be chosen (I'm going to use their username):
niwadwitama, paspaul10, ArKadian, shobana and stephaniehardjo. (These guys are whom I mostly encounter in this board.)
4. Famous last words.
I wouldn't consider this as my "last words" for I do hope that we still continue to participate in this community whether we are chosen or not. We should all consider this as a great start. So, I should call this as my "first/start words":
I know this thread is quite a bit off topic (sorry administrators) but I think we have all the rights to express our deepest thanks. So, I would like take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you all for participating in this board.
Thank you guys! Keep up the beat!

If this forum closes on the start of the 17th, I think it would be appropriate for this topic to be on the top of the section. So if that is the case the section should close very soon and it will be at the top.
As my final words on this forum for now, I would like to thank everyone for the experience and knowledge they have shared for everybody, and the best of luck to all of you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ Regards ArKadian.

Aww everyones so sweet!
Ha! Im not being girly on that regard but I think so many people deserve their chance to speak at the ICF this year. I've notably learnt so much on my part. It's a shame to be limited by numbers but atleast we've all contributed to our best potential here.
Experience is definitely the best teacher.
I had no idea it would be closing tomorrow! Thanks so much for reminding me- lost track of time on this! And it certainly doesn't feel like two full weeks has passed. I suppose as the saying goes "Time flies by when you're having 'fun'!
To list everyone I think whose inspired me?? And to list just 15 who I think deserve to continue? That would be such a difficult task, I believe everyone has touched upon an important aspect here. BUT on saying that, those whose views I can relate to the most would include Niwa, (Sorry your name's so long I can hardly pronounce it though I'll try harder!) Gabrielle, Kurt, Steph, Muhamud, Chan, Abby, there must be dozens more that my memory can't contain...
And of course you too! We'll still keep in touch after this forum ends ok?
That goes for everyone so if this is the last chance - Add me! Hahaha

Thank you for making such unexpected Thread Arkadian*,
YES, oficially it almost come to a close of selection prior to elected students' announcement by committee,
But i believe this is a start to engange and share each other much better among participants furthermore.
i even once think wether we NOW are quite sincere and willing to make posts and share insights or only frequent posting to make records on account as to be recognised as active participant..
HOWEVER, i know some new friends through this discussion, adding their facebook and even send email!!
1, Who has had the most influence or inspired you the most on this forum?
Arkadian is one of them! thank you for your very active and responsive discussion this far. i do appreciate it! you really represent a lively fresh spiritful teen of New Zealand!!
and some OTHER PEERS, i cannot mention in this mean time! but Everybody give me their own framework of thinking.
2, What have you learnt on this forum in these few weeks of greatest importance?
i Learn that this internet as a sort of advancement technology, really allow us to experience the atmosphere of globalisation where world is getting borderless, meet and discuss with friends accross Nation lively.
3, Who do you think will be the in the 15 who get to go to singapore?
ONE thing i believe in is that
"the respective Committe will surely select the best students that can represent their countries in Microsoft Innovative Education Forum (IEF) 2010 from all Asia Pacific countries."
Hope the best for that^^
4, Famous last words.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
Yes, I do believe in all of us!
Anna : yes this thread is so..sweet haha...*
