China & Japan = peace

Hi there,

recently there has been a very hot issues regard the history text book that had been approved by the government of Japan, because of the text book it remind what happened in the past and what is going on with the current dispute. I am a Malaysian-Chinese, actually I am a Chinese who was born and raised in Malaysia, but I have been living in Australia for 3 years. I still remember the good times my grandmother shared with me when I was little and the story that fascinated me the most was the 2nd World War that happened in Malaysia, my grandma told me the cruel story that the Japanese Army did to the Chinese people that live in Malaysia also the story that my great-grandpa almost got killed. It sound very scary for me but I think that was a great time for me to understand something which is listen first and then ask the question this is just the simple way of communication.

I asked my grandma why the Japanese Army wanted to killed the Chinese people. My grandma answered "because of the war in China". Believe me, I did not understand at all at that time. When I grew up and I went to the high school history was my favourite subject, I learned that the local people in Malaysia was helping the Japanese Army to fight against the British. Why? Because the local wanted to free from British. From these 2 incident I learned that when the people want to get something they will do anything to get what they are want and them think about the problems they will face later, which is when they are free from the British but then the Japanese will occupied Malaysia. Is this another definition I can find from the "BAD COMMUNICATION"? "ACTION FIRST, THINKING SECOND"

Since I came to Australia I only am friend with Japanese, why? Because my Japanese friends are very friendly to me, to be friend with the Japanese even though I can speak 7 languages but I did not speak Japanese until last year. I learned that even with the language barrier if we are open minded we can understand the different without the language. In fact I tried hard to learn the Japanese, because I like my Japanese friends very much. I went to Japan last year and stayed at my friend house, I was talking about the 2nd World War with my friend's family and we exchanged the view. Believe me; I did not expect to get the answer who is right and who is wrong in fact I never thought about to get the answer from every political question. Because I truly understand different culture has different view. We all know without making mistake we actually will not learn a new thing and make a progress.

I was discussing these issues with my best friend just last night on the phone, she is Japanese. I said to her the protest against Japan that happened in China recently, and she said "Japan will not go to war again; we (Japanese) do not like war."

Japanese government is trying hard to find the best way to educate their young generation and that is no doubt about it as we can see Japan has become the 2nd largest economy in the world. Japan has grown from the poor, bankrupt, defeated country after the 2nd world war. What happened in the Nanjin massacre was a very cruel thing that human being did to human being, what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the cruellest decision that human being had made. We all will learn from mistake and mistake will make us progress, if we keep thinking what had happened in the past without knowing the cause we will also learn nothing. In order to solve a problem like this I think that the both party should be open minded, we are living in the 21st century and we will want to build even better future and set a good example in the history book for the new generation to learn.
