michael jackson trial

As I watch the Michael Jackson trial progress, I become more and more disgusted every day, not only with his general disrespect for our legal system and outrageous attitude, but with the media coverage of the trial. Here we have a man who has been accused on several occasions of child sexual abuse. Ordinarily I believe that this subject would be handled with atleast a little bit more concern and seriousness. However, in our society where celebrities= god and money can buy you anything, not only do we not take these allegations seriously, but rather we focus on the ridiculous details of the trial rather than the issue of what he is on trial for. Rather than focusing on the damaging abuse he has allegedly caused and taking this oppertunity to address this issue more openly in the media, we focus on what he wears to the trial, what time he shows up, who comes in his entourage, what celebrities are listed as witnesses, and so on.
It is my personal belief that Michael Jackson is guilty of child sexual abuse, that he is completely unfit as a parent or to supervise children, and that he should be put in jail with all the other sex offenders. However, it is unlikely that this will happen.
On the flip side, we have a 9 year old Florida girl, named Jessica Lundsford, who was abducted from her home by a registered sex offender and then killed. In fact, the man who abducted her has three decades worth of sexual abuse on his record. Why on earth is he free to participate in society? The media seems to be taking this case with a great deal more concern. Why is that? Does Michael Jackson deserve the privilege of living above the law? And as far as victim blaming is concerned... we blame the parents of these children who are accusing Jackson of abuse. How greedy they are... But what if it's true? Do we truly believe that ALL allegations against him are false? Don't these children deserve more respect and concern from the general public, not to mention the legal system, for the harm Jackson has caused for them? I think Michael Jackson has proved on numerous occasions that he is not only mentally ill, but unable to lead a healthy life. I am personally outraged by all of this. It's completely ridiculous.
any comment??

it is ridclous, all the media that is following Jackson. It is almost as if this is just a new way for him to get media coverage. No one is really concerned about the kids or how they are feeling, this is just like one big field day for the media and their outrageous way of reporting what is really important. i personally believe that if things of this matter should happan they should not be in the news. If they are kept under cover than many rumors and or discharge from this will not happan, protecting many people. And we can't just blame out society, becasue when we blame our society we blame our selves. sure it is almost in one way or another everyone's fault but that doesn't mean that we have to head recklessly into the whole it is society's fault. it is just another scapegoat and frankly it pisses me off. Should we not take responsility for our own actions? If Jackson were really a responsible adult he would take the blame for which he caused. But i do beleive his is a seriously mentally ill person and should be put in therapey. If there is one thing we have learned from this it is that media in an early age is seriously harmful.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE with both of you ON THIS ISSUE OF MICHEAL JACKSON trial.
I BELIEVE VERY STRONGLY THAT MJ IS INNOCENT OF ALL THE CHARGES AND ALL THE ACCUSER WANTS IS MONEY FROM MICHEAL.
IF YOU PEOPLE BELIEVE MICHEAL IS GUILTY AND SHOULD BE JAILED, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY TO MILLIONS OF CHILDREN HE HAS HELPED WORLDWIDE EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.
WE ALL HAVE CONSCIENCE AND IT IS THE BEST JUDGE IN THE WORLD. MICHEAL HAS BEEN THE LEADING ADVOCATE ON MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE AND HE HAS BEEN SUPPORTING THE COURSE MORALLY, FINANCIALLY AND ALL OTHERS MEANS.

i personally believe that his is not quite right in the head. Didnt he hold his kid over a balcony?
And there are other ways to help children than invite them around to his house. It is a sad fact that all men seen with small children not there own, are almost viewed with suspicion. This is because of all the people who are guilty and have been caught. If he is innocent, then he was not doing much to help his cause by behaving in such weird ways..
The media are like vultures all over the world. Everything is sensationalised when it comes to famous people. But people out there must want it, or else it wouldnt be so popular.
The guy is crazy, but probably not a criminal.

Aggh for once someone defends him!Thank you okerotimi! It is now pronouced that he is innocent and thats the truth. like what okerotimi said...he's helped millions of kids, he cares for them so much because he didn't get that as a child.he knows how they should be treated because he never got treated right. the only way anyone can accuse him of this is to get money. i mean they saw an oppurtunity and snatched it. not everyone in this world is kind-hearted like michael jackson and they will do what it takes just for money. money, money, money will change people. i mean look at muculley culkin (i can't spell his name)...he already has plenty of money and he said he wasn't guilty.now look at these other people...not saying that they are poor but they're not exactly rich like Culkin.MJ is obviously a nice guy i mean just look at some of his music video "They don't really care about us" and you'll also see that there is one where he is concerned for our rainforest.that may not have to do with his case but you can obviously see the intention, purpose and meaning he stands for in it.Some of you also mention about the publicity and media that follow him and talk about the celebs on his side etc. Well no duh that he is gonna have publicity-he's Michael Jackson. You also have to think and remember that he is not the reporter or editor of these magazines that slap these kinda headlines on him. Of course they are gonna mention the other celeberties there...they mention when a celeb is at a beach or cafe.why?because THE PEOPLE want to hear where they are they like the gossip, and these people who are mentioning this in the magazines are obviously wanting it to sell.money,money,money.people will do anything for it and michael jackson is Mr.Oppurtunity for them. Find peace.
