with the coming of ARV's,lives of many AIDS patients greetly impproved. currently many have run out of their ARV cocktails, in Kenya and U.K the resistance of HIV to ARV is at 5%. ARV,s have just been in use for a short time and the resistnce is that high. at that rate!!! whats going? where are were heading? what is next? whats going to happen to these patients? just image 3 by 5. if all the 3 million AIDs patients by 2005 are on ARVs, what the resistnce would be.....

Yeah, I agree with your concern but please show the figures. Am a kenyan and I can assure you, its only about 1% of the victims that recieve ARV's! so, no matter the resistance it still doesnt count 'cause less people have access to them.
Lets address the scourge with the right measures viz a viz preventive and therapeutic nutrition.
I pray that soon with the current efforts in research AIDS shall be a gone case!

i appreciate you,it 5% of patients on ARVs that have developed the resistance . ARVs have done a miracle in treatment of AIDS,many patients are responding well. their quality of life has improved. my concern is the rate of secondary resistance is high with just a few of the patients on ARVs. just image all AIDS patient were on the drugs, what will it be? Now that they have run out of their cocktails, what is next in their lives, soon or later their health will worsen and have all the AIDS associated infections.
