Science & Development?

Hi everyone,
I am very interested in high-level science and its implications to development. Within the last few months, I've done research on a wide range of topics within economics, politics, sociology, and even mathematics to see how they may be able to meet and answer both developing and developed countries' needs. It's been a great learning experience. An example of such a theoretical topic is "neuroeconomics" - the applications of neuroscience to economics to learn about how people make choices. There are many other examples.
What I've been trying to find, however, is some sort of organization or group of people who are also interested in topics like the above. I've searched high and low and while I've found interesting websites like www.scidev.net and www.bridges.org, I've yet to find a group that actually deals with researching such topics and applying them.
If anyone could help me find something like this, I'd be grateful.
On a second note, I'd also be interested to see if anyone else here is interested in such applications? Their applications often use technology and have a great deal of challenges, but are feasible, in my opinion.
I'm still fleshing out these thoughts and ideas, but any responses would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wojciech

Hi,
to be honest I am a little confused as to what you are getting at. You want to find out who is carrying out research into how sciences could help development? or into the economics of science and development? Are you looking for a development organisation, or a research organisation, or just information?
It sounds kind of interesting...

Hi,
Thanks for your reply! Specifically, I'm looking to learn how science can be applied to development, though all the options you listed are viable. At this stage, this is more just figuring out what is available and seeing where to focus, as there's a meager amount of material available at the moment.
I started developing a site for this, available at www.i2r.org if you're more interested.
Thanks,
Wojciech
