Login Problems....
September 20, 2002 - 05:19 AM

Okay, some seriously weird stuff is happening.

All today ive had trouble logging into the TIG site. Ive tried logging in through the discussion boards (and to no avail, though it seems this time that it may have worked) and through the 'login button' on the main page.

When I DO try and login, im routed back to where I first entered my username and password...and try all over again.

So, some very weird stuff is happening. Considering I deleted all my cookies, re-installed explorer (and tried using netscape and opera 6.02 - both with no success) and it still wouldnt work.

And though Ive managed to post this message, I am apparently logged in on the TIG site - though I havent entered my username and password successfully all day. (and there is no cookie left).

Very strange.

HELP!

We are working on re-writing our login and user system to support non-cookie logins -- so you will still be able to use the TIG site if:

a) You don't use cookies
b) Your browser doesn't support cookies
c) Something is not working with the cookies

Hopefully within the next week it will be done!

Neither Mike Blanchard or myself have had any luck as well. To be able to post I have had to login at eartyouth.net however when I enter TIG it is still not registering that I am logged in (very late - bad wording).

Perhaps TIG just doesnt like Australians anymore sad

Anyway, im sure it will just fix itself when it wants.

Regards,
Marcus

Logins fixed!
October 6, 2002 - 05:12 AM

I spent a good 5 hours today (a Sunday!) to revamp the discussions system and properly tie the user system to ours. You should now NEVER need to re-login to discussions if you are logged into TIG, and you should also be able to login to TIG through the discussions system!

Please e-mail me if you have any problems - mfurdyk@

(@takingitglobal.org) -- I split it up so that spam robots don't get it!

Its the same since this year 2004,lets assume someone has used that particular system to log in TIg site for another person to log in is really a problem since this yr,even if you try changing the user the reverse becomes the case]

So you're still logged in? If you click logout, it clears the TIG cookie on that computer which will then make you enter your password the next time you use that computer.

If that isn't the problem, please tell me more, since I otherwise don't quite understand what the problem is.
