It is true that it is neccessary for there to be equality between the sexes. This is not only emphasized by various international convention but is also embedded in various domeestic laws. Yet equality to many people mean different things. Women and men are not equal in terms of their physical characteristics, they ar not afforded the same employment opportunities as men. contrary to what many people think, women are not holding the most imporatant position in society. Take for example the Jamaican Parliament basicaly 80% of the ministers and politicians are men. They call the shots. So even though, there are more women being managers now that in the past, women are still in a position of subordination.

True equality of women can not be ascertain as women tend to have faith in men holding various positions (leader of country)than they do in women. Women are the ones who put men in the position theiy now hold. If women do not take a stand then equality will never be attained

http://www.twnside.org.sg/women.htm

interesting viewpoint of the woman behind the man.
Is this the reflection on this new found femininity of the nineties which is basicly a charming way of disarming women.Make them believe they are in a position of power...
It's a far cry from the goal of 'giving' all women self determination to have them be satisfied with basking in the glow of a few empowered sisters and well intended men and conferences.

The issue of womens rights is as broad as mankind and that includes all problems as well.
And the only time they ever got rights is when they took 'm.

What would be the feminine point of view? Survival if you ask me.
A lot of people are of the opinion that it is time for revolution.
