Hello!
I am Tawachi Nyasulu from the Republic of Malawi in Southern Africa. It makes me sad to realise that most people out there do not know where my beautiful country is located unless I mention the countries we share boundaries with. I therefore would like to feature my country profile on this forum and I am sure you will fall in love with Malawi.
> MALAWI means 'Flames'(of fire)
> Malawi is a small landlocked country. It shares bounbaries with Tanzania to the North, Mozambique to the East and South, and Zambia to the West.
> The population is at about 10 million, and most people live in the rural areas.
> The country is divided into three regions: Northern, Central and Southern regions. The adminstrative capital is Lilongwe in the Central Region and the commercial capital is
Blantyre.
> The people are very friendly and this is why Malawi is referred to as the Warm Heart of Africa.
> The culture is diverse and unique. It includes traditonal dances for specific occasions, initiation for boys and girls, bride price, and many more.
> There are five national parks and four game reserves. Animals include elephants, lions, leopards, tigers, rhinoceros, giraffes, warthogs and many more.
> Our meals are prepared using corn flour, rice and cassava flour. We get our proteins from fish, beef and beans.
> Challenges: HIV-AIDS (15 % of the population is infected)
low literacy rate(40%)
young democracy
> Religion: mostly Christianity
How I wish I had a scanner so that I would have included some pictures. Anyway should I find that chance I will do so. But my message is: Malawi is a beautiful country. Those of you who like travelling, come over some holiday.
Bye!!!!!!
