The old fashion way to greet in Chinese is “别来无恙” (bie lai wu yang), meaning “hope you have been well since we parted”. Literally, it is a question asking the other person if s/he got sick or mishap since their last parting. It’s equivalent to English expression “how are you?”, “How’s everything going?”, etc. Now similar greeting in modern Chinese greeting is “最近怎样?” [zui jin zen yang], or simply say “你好” (ni hao) [literally: you good; equivalent to “Hello”].

"欢迎!"(huan ying) is "Welcome!". smile

Assalaam wa alaikum

Translating into "Peace be upon you"
