I was wondering if anybody has any stories of people they know being affected by landmines and how they feel about this. This would be a great help as i am doing a project on landmines and their effects on its victims.

Landmines

I had a professor in college that lost both of his legs to a landmine accident in Somalia. He has since devoted his entire life to this issue. He has appeared on nearly every major Television talk show to dicuss his amazing story, such as Oprah, Dateline, 20/20, etc.
Check out his website http://courses.smsu.edu/krr889f/homepage.htm
Here are some other good resources for info. on this topic.

Dr. Rutherford also cofounded the Landmine Survivors Network...check it out here http://www.landminesurvivors.org/
also be sure to look for his survivor story.
Hope this helps
