just my opinion...sorry if i offend its not my intention
December 12, 2004 - 07:45 AM

Do all religions lead to God? Ok, there are tons of religions that don't even have a God, but for the rest...is the Christian God the same as the Muslim Allah? if not what happens if you happen to pick the wrong religion? Burn in hell? I ask because i'm having a faith crisis at the mo.

Like to hear your views.

Futurism doesnts.

WE are talking here only about DEISTIC religions, but there are several others, Futurism included, that dont recognize "God" (DEUS)

Without pointing to any specific religion, I will say that living life and searching for truth will lead you to God.

living life and searching for truth will lead you to God
At first glance i thought "Wow, how deep and meaningful", but then i realised it doesn't really help me right now. Are you saying the fact that i'm trying to find the truth is the way to God? Somehow i don't quite buy that. A lot of people are trying to find the truth. There are lots of different, often conflicting "truths". They can't all be right. There can only be one truth. I was just wondering which one it was.

I almost want to die, just to see whats on the other side. If i do die, i'll come back and let you guys know... smile

Most people also dont know what to do next, after they fulfilled their basic goals: "Family, car, house two kids and a dog". So whats next ? They ask.. If you have to ask that to yourself for you is no future. You are now in a dieing phase of your life.

For every Human being is a clear duty: Help other Human being achieve their gols as well. NEVER GO AGAINST OTHER HUMAN BEING NO MATTER WHAT! Help Humanity to improve itself through your own efforts as well. For a better life, Humanity must evolve further as whole.

This is the Truth you been seeking.

Hey Kaicy! Sorry for the cryptic answer. There are so many religions out there and I could surely tell you what I believe about mine, but I don't think that's what you need to hear based on your questions. If you seek God with a pure heart then I don't think you will burn in hell. I know lots of people would disagree, but that's how I feel. You're right that there are many "truths" out there. And you are also right in that dying is the only way to be sure! I would advise not to try that at home though. : P

Your's is the hot question for the ages. Hope you find your answers.

kaiser makes a good point also that some religions aren't deistic, meaning they aren't dealing with a "god" but more with spirituality and/or philosophy. I would use Buddhism as a good example of this (and Futurism, right kaiser?).

Hiya people,

God GOd God. I attend church, I attend to temple prayers, I go to the mosque. Barghhh!!!! Boring boring. Since I am young, I find myself laughing at those who talk about GOd. In my humble point of view, what is the whole point of talking like one is a saint or an angel or a Muhammad if you are not perfect. If you are not aware and lending a helping hand to others. I do not believe anything about religion. Religion is for those who are insecured. I might be wrong you can say that I am wrong. I do not need to be this religion and that religion to help a blind child cross the road. I find it fartney aka funny that people come up to me and tell me that God loves me, I am gonna go heaven if I donate this. So, God is biased ehh...? I wouldnt even spend my time thinking do all religions lead to God, I will probably spend my time thinking how I can help clean the rubbish that is outside my house. Stupid people littering, they might be those who claim that they are very very religious people. Please tickly my funny bone.

Open to criticism.

I believe Catholicism is the most ignorant of all the religions. The church has become very cult like. Go to mass and just listen to the people. Most people are there because they feel they have to be, not because they want to be. Prayers are just memorized and repeated with all words losing relevant meaning. To see a person in deep prayer is a rarity and most of the time when they are praying from the bottom of their hearts, it is for forgiveness or healing. They do not pray out of gratefulness of life. They do not pray out of thankfulness that they do not live in these third world countries. They do not appreciate what they are given and just want more. How can one religion say that the only way to receive eternal happiness is to believe in Jesus Christ and follow his words? There are countries and parts of the world that have never even heard of Him. They then go and contradict themselves by saying God loves every single person equally. Are these people mistakes put on this earth for no reason? It is not their fault they have not grown up in a privileged enough area to receive this knowledge.

And yes the christian God is the same as the muslim Allah. Allah is just the Arabic name for God. Christians, Muslims, and Jews have the same God and different beliefs about Jesus.

I honestly can not say I have a religion because I believe in bits and pieces of different ones. I think that if you are a good person at heart you will have good rewards in the afterlife

im open to others opinions on this...

No matter what you believe, you have to always remember : all books are written by man. Man, who was "inspired" by a voice he heard. Nothing should be taken as literal but as a lesson to live your life by.

I feel that you must first love God and believe in his power. God shows each of us signs day by day to either let us know we are doing right or we are doing wrong. God is very real. I for one am a christian and believe in the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Always remember that the only sin God will not forgive you for is blasphemy of the holy spirit.God loves you all!!!!!

some might agree with me & other might not.. after all this is my own opinion on the matter

i suppose all religions are the seek of a divine power, thus is God.
i do believe in christinaity & jewiusm .. after all i'm a Muslim.. as they all seek the same God but maybe in different ways but in so many ways they are similar and if i may say they complete each other..
as a believer in God i suppose all who believe in God in the various ways might all end up in Heaven..

I'm going to have to take issue with you on this.
Catholicism is not 'cult like' - people don't like it because it is not prepared to create a faith that suits them - it is a faith following the teachings of Jesus, the messages that he gave to his followers.
Catholic teaching (Catechism) has two sources - the Holy Bible, the divinly inspired book that in the Old Testement talks of Jesus' coming, and in the New Testement talks about his life and ministery, then also the actions of his followers. But remember that Jesus had no part directly in writing the bible. So the other source of teaching comes from 'tradition' - the teahcings given to the apsoltles and then to the church.

People do not go to mass "and just listen to people" - the mass is the celebration of the Eucharist, where bread and wine are transfigured into Christ' body and blood - an institution Jesus himself established at the Last Supper

Catholicism is not 'cult like' -

Aren’t most religions these days though “cult-like?” Maybe I am leaning more towards organized religion, with emphasis on organized. Catholicism is possibly one of the only religions that have stayed true to its origin, hence when the Protestants broke away from the Catholic Church forming other churches. Catholicism is all over the world, including Eastern countries.
